Dean of Arts and Sciences manages administrative functions of the college of arts and sciences. Develops college strategic initiatives and participates in university long-term planning and policy setting. Being a Dean of Arts and Sciences leads college in fundraising and cultivating relationships with donors. Provides senior level administrative leadership in areas of curriculum development, institutional assessment and improvement, human resource, faculty development and performance appraisals, budget and finance, and facilities planning and management. Additionally, Dean of Arts and Sciences requires an advanced degree. Typically reports to top management. The Dean of Arts and Sciences manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. The STEAM (STEM Art) Facilitator position is grant-funded and provides Out-of-School time enrichment to students with a focus on support for Science Expo (elementary students), and engaging with Hawai’i-centric STEM opportunities, through facilitation of virtual programs and field trips. Grades 3-12 are served, with different age groups attending different days.
This temporary part-time position is available immediately through May 2025, with the possibility to renew for SY25-26. The STEAM Facilitator reports to the Beyond School Club Coordinator, and has a set schedule of 2:00 - 4:30pm on Mondays through Thursdays, and 12:00 - 2:30pm on Fridays, with 2.5 hours of prep time allotted per week. This schedule has some flexibility for the right candidate. Additional projects and field trips are logged as the position demands. This position is in-person at the Arts and Sciences Center (HAASPCS campus) and can be expected to work both inside and outside learning environments as needed.
