Dean of Continuing Education manages administrative functions of the college of continuing education. Develops college strategic initiatives and participates in university long-term planning and policy setting. Being a Dean of Continuing Education leads college in fundraising and cultivating relationships with donors. Provides senior level administrative leadership in areas of curriculum development, institutional assessment and improvement, human resource, faculty development and performance appraisals, budget and finance, and facilities planning and management. Additionally, Dean of Continuing Education requires an advanced degree. Typically reports to top management. The Dean of Continuing Education manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. To be a Dean of Continuing Education typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience.     General Summary:

    The Assistant to the Graduate Division Dean works with the Graduate Dean and Graduate Program Directors to perform and assist with general administrative and bookkeeping duties that support Graduate Division operations. These include but are not limited to enrollment service (admissions to graduation), program/career advising, approved public relations, outreach and communication.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in office professions, organizational management, communication, education, Native American studies, natural resources, or related field with successful work experience in office management and/or administrative support.
    • Experience working with Native American graduate students.
    • Demonstrated ability with a variety of software program and operating systems.
    • Professional demeanor sufficient to role model and to support diverse students.
    • Must be detail oriented, proficient in and computer literate with experience in data entry, Excel, and Word is required.
    • Must be able to learn SKC data systems with minimal supervision.
    • Must be able to maintain confidentiality, multi-task, work in a fast-paced environment, and have the ability to work within a team setting.
    • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA): Must be organized, detail-oriented, and able to work productively with a diverse team of staff and faculty; must be proficient in word processing, spreadsheets, and data input; must have the ability to productively interface with various educational organizations demonstrating a professional demeanor at all times.

    Preferred:

    • Two (2) years of increasingly responsible administrative work history including but not limited to document creation, schedule coordination, spreadsheet development, data analysis and meeting logistical deadlines, and requirements.
    • Experience with administrative capacity such as report development, data verification, and development of professional communication to internal and external agencies/donors/departments.
