Dean of Pharmacy manages administrative functions of the college of pharmacy. Develops college strategic initiatives and participates in university long-term planning and policy setting. Being a Dean of Pharmacy leads college in fundraising and cultivating relationships with donors. Provides senior level administrative leadership in areas of curriculum development, institutional assessment and improvement, human resource, faculty development and performance appraisals, budget and finance, and facilities planning and management. Additionally, Dean of Pharmacy requires an advanced degree. Typically reports to top management. The Dean of Pharmacy manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. General responsibilities:
Answer phones promptly and professionally to assist patients and health care providers with prescription requests and questions.
Communicate with patients, assisting them when needed whether on the phone, in person, or through the drive through.
Organizes medications to dispense by reading medication orders, preparing prescription labels, and calculating correct quantities.
Instruct patients on the use of medications, both prescription and over the counter medications and supplies.
Demonstrate knowledge of generic substitution.
Possess ability to intake and input prescriptions in a timely manner.
Maintain and protect patient records and health information in compliance with state procedures, rules, and regulations.
Maintain pharmacy inventory.
Assist patients with insurance questions, copays, and checkout when necessary.
Keep work area clean and organized.
Complete any task delegated by the manager within the scope of practice of a Pharmacy Tech License.
Requirements:
Pharmacy Technician License
Experience preferred but not required.
