Being a Development Coordinator analyzes data for trends and creates donor profiles to assist with donor development, stewardship, and direct communications and fundraising strategy. Uses a database or Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system to maintain research data and donor records, execute mailing or e-mail campaigns, and create reports. Additionally, Development Coordinator maintains confidentiality and complies with data privacy regulations and policies. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Development Coordinator work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role.     The Corporation for Ohio Appalachian Development (COAD) is a 50-year-old nonprofit organization that provides direct services to Ohio’s Appalachian counties in Early Care and Education, AmeriCorps Seniors, Weatherization and Energy Efficiency, and serves the state of Ohio in its accredited Weatherization Training Center.     The Opportunity:

    We are currently seeking a Child Care Business Support Coordinator who will be responsible for recruiting childcare providers throughout the Service Delivery Area. Responsibilities include assisting potential providers throughout the licensing process, training, and successfully opening their business to increase the number of open slots for children in Ohio’s Appalachian region. This position will also be responsible for engaging with employers to emphasize the need for childcare providers in the region and provide them with information that may need in order to start or support a childcare business. 

    Key Responsibilities:

    · Recruit and serve potential childcare providers; engage in activities that increase supply, availability, access, and expansion of early care and education options in the region. 

    · Work alongside county agencies in assisting family childcare providers throughout the licensing process.

    · Provide high quality training and technical assistance to current and potential providers of childcare services to increase efficiencies of daily operations and to ensure sustainable ECE fiscal management and overall business operations. 

    · Work in close cooperation with regional small business development centers, economic development offices, financial institutions, and others to ensure that providers have access to efficient, coordinated services and resources relating to business support.  

    · Provide outreach services to area businesses to assess their need for childcare for employees and assist them, as needed, in providing childcare information on how to open or support a childcare business.

    · Maintain databases and anecdotal records to inform reporting and outreach efforts; Assists with coordination of regional data collection, reporting, and analysis within the district office.

    · Present a positive public image of COAD; make community presentations related to special projects as assigned.

    Requirements

    Key Qualifications: · A minimum of an Associate Degree in a related field (Bachelor’s degree preferred)· Experience with Ohio’s childcare system and/or experience in community outreach is preferred· Sales background and/or business development experience
