    Position Summary

    Latino Academy Workforce Development is seeking a Communications/Digital Media Coordinator to raise awareness about our mission, services, and the impact we have on our students' lives. You will help communicate our organization’s story and vision through digital, print, and social media channels. The ideal candidate will develop and implement communication strategies that engage various stakeholders, promote our programs, and drive support for our mission. This role is perfect for someone who is bilingual in Spanish and English with experience in nonprofit communications, digital marketing, and exceptional project management skills.

    Principal Activities and Duties

    Communication Strategy Development

    • Collaborate with the team to create and implement communication strategies that raise awareness about our programs, projects, and community impact.
    • Promote the organization’s mission and services through engaging and meaningful content.

    Content Creation and Management

    • Write and design content for digital platforms, including social media, email newsletters, and websites.
    • Regularly update the organization’s website with fresh and appealing content, program information, and success stories.
    • Draft and distribute press releases to raise awareness of key initiatives, events, and organizational updates.
    • Produce and manage digital content, ensuring it is compelling, relevant, and aligned with organizational goals.

    Social Media Strategy and Management

    • Maintain and expand the organization’s presence on social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.).
    • Create & execute social media campaigns that align with key programs & organizational goals.
    • Use tools like Hootsuite (knowledge of other social media management tools are a plus) to schedule and manage content.
    • Track engagement metrics and analyze the performance of social media campaigns.

    Print & Electronic Material Development

    • Manage the creation of all print and electronic materials, such as brochures, flyers, posters, and newsletters.
    • Coordinate the production of the organization’s annual reports to highlight accomplishments and impact.
    • Ensure quality and consistency across all promotional materials.

    Project Management & Event Coordination

    • Provide exceptional project management to ensure all communications initiatives are delivered on time and within scope.
    • Support the planning and execution of special events, both virtual and in person, by creating promotional content and managing outreach.
    • Collaborate with the team to ensure deadlines are met and resources are appropriately allocated.

    Campaign Development

    • Develop and execute marketing campaigns for key programs, membership drives, and fundraising efforts.
    • Tailor campaigns to specific target audiences, such as students, donors, partners, and community members.

    Analytics & Reporting

    • Report on engagement levels and analyze the effectiveness of digital platforms and campaigns.
    • Use data to refine strategies and improve the organization’s outreach.

    Community Engagement

    • Collaborate with community partners to increase awareness of the Latino Academy’s programs and services.
    • Discover new and innovative ways to expand the organization’s social media presence and engage stakeholders.

    Education and Experience

    A Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field is preferred but not required. We highly value industry experience over formal education. If you have a strong background in digital marketing, communications, or nonprofit work, we encourage you to apply, even if you don’t have a degree.

    Skills & Technical Proficiencies

    • Bilingual in Spanish and English (both written and spoken) is required.
    • Proficiency in Google Suite, Microsoft 365, MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
    • Familiarity with social media management tools like Hootsuite and other platforms.
    • Experience with basic HTML for website management and content updates.
    • Proficiency in AI tools for content or process automation, graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite), and email marketing platforms (e.g., MailChimp, Constant Contact).

    Communication & Project Management

    • Strong verbal and written communication skills in both Spanish and English.
    • Exceptional project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
    • Proven experience producing and managing digital content for diverse audiences across multiple platforms.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience working in or with Latino communities.
    • Knowledge of nonprofit marketing and fundraising strategies.
    • Experience creating bilingual content for diverse audiences.
