Position: Development Coordinator
Reports to: Chief Strategy and Innovation Officer

Function:
The Development Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting the fundraising and donor engagement efforts of VOA Southeast. This position is responsible for coordinating all aspects of the organization's development activities, donor relations, and fundraising events. The Development Coordinator will work closely with senior leadership, the marketing team, and other frontline fundraisers to ensure the success of our fundraising initiatives.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., nonprofit management, communications, or fundraising) or equivalent experience. Minimum of two years’ experience in nonprofit development, fundraising, or a related field is preferred. Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong organizational skills, and attention to detail.
Must be able to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team. The position requires a passion for the mission and values of VOA Southeast as well as a professional and personal commitment to servant leadership. Must be self-motivated and disciplined to regularly set and achieve work goals.
Proficiency in using CRMs or donor management software (e.g., Blackbaud Raiser's Edge and HubSpot) or willingness to learn. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office 365, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Principal Activities:
- Donor Relations
- Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with donors, sponsors, and partners.
- Acknowledge and thank donors for their contributions promptly and thoughtfully.
- Support the development of donor recognition programs and initiatives.
- Assists with stewardship initiatives for corporate partners by facilitating meetings between partners and CEO, senior leadership, and, when applicable, board members to ensure continuing partner cultivation and recognition.
- Event Management
- Plan, coordinate, and execute all aspects of VOA Southeast’s fundraising events, including logistics, budget management, and volunteer coordination.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to promote events and engage donors.
- Data Management
- Maintain accurate donor records in the organization's donor database (e.g., Blackbaud Raiser's Edge and HubSpot) to track donor information, contributions, and interactions.
- Generate reports and analyze data to support fundraising strategies and decision-making.
- Assist Marketing in the segmentation of donor lists for targeted outreach.
- Donor Communications
- Ensure all donations are acknowledged in a timely manner
- Provide year end reports to donors for tax purposes
- Assist in the creation and distribution of donor communications, including newsletters, emails, and annual reports.
- Collaborate with the marketing to ensure consistent messaging.
- Provide content and stories that illustrate the impact of donations.
- Grant Support
- Assist in the research, preparation, and submission of grant proposals and reports.
- Keep track of grant application deadlines and requirements.
- Help maintain a grant calendar to ensure timely submissions.
- Administrative Support
- Provide administrative support including scheduling meetings, managing calendars, and preparing materials for donor meetings and presentations.
- Assist in budget tracking and financial reporting related to development activities.
