Additionally, Development Coordinator maintains confidentiality and complies with data privacy regulations and policies. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Development Coordinator work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role.     Description

    The Outreach Coordinator serves as the initial contact for guests seeking services in MDCs Welcome Center, and in the community. The incumbent is well-trained in all services/resources that MDC provides, including associated eligibility requirements for recipients of each service. Based on conversations with guests, the Outreach Coordinator educates guests on MDCs services and refers individuals to the correct MDC program staff based on the determined needs of the guests. The position will also assist guests with completing application forms for some services, including energy and rental assistance. The Outreach Coordinator will develop relationships with all relevant program staff for the purposes of referrals and continued education on program services available to community members.

    What you will do:

    • Research and self-educate on the services and resources MDC provides through its many programs, including eligibility requirements.
    • Develop relationships with all relevant program staff for the purposes of referrals and continued education on program services available to community members.
    • Engage guests in MDCs Welcome Center and the community to determine services specifically appropriate and desired by individuals seeking assistance. This may include using motivational interviewing to best understand the needs and goals of those seeking assistance.
    • Assist individuals in completing applications for appropriate services for which they qualify.
    • Develop a comprehensive list of MDC services, eligibility requirements, appropriate MDC contacts, and other community organizations for possible referrals.
    • Assist participants in making contact with appropriate MDC program staff and/or community organizations based on services needed.
    • Work collaboratively with team, management and other programs to ensure excellent communication in providing the best possible service to community members seeking assistance.
    • Evaluate effectiveness of services provided by recording referrals, completed applications for services, and number of guests engaged.

     

    Schedule: 8am - 4:30pm Mon - Fri & some weekends

    Compensation: $20.83 - 22.10/hour

    Qualifications


    What you will need:

    • AA in Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, Mental Health or closely related field of study required and
    • Two years' experience working closely with individuals and families in need of assistance; some understanding of the theory and practice of multiple evidence-based and best practices utilized in helping clients to determine level of and specific assistance needed
    • OR any combination of relevant education and experience that demonstrates ability to successfully complete essential responsibilities.
    • Understanding of Motivational Interviewing
    • Knowledge of HIPAA compliance when collecting and storing participant information.
    • Proven ability to maintain accurate, thorough, timely and client records, communicate professionally verbally and in writing. Knowledge of electronic recordkeeping for client information.
    • Demonstrated ability to work with differences, specifically around race, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation and gender identity, disability, etc., and how these differences contribute to disparate outcomes for these populations.
    • Washington State Driver's License; maybe required to drive company vehicle, and is insurable for purpose of transporting clients to scheduled appointments and/or visiting and monitoring clients living environment.
