    Responsibilities

    Job Summary / Purpose

    The Digital Marketing & Communication Specialist is responsible for performing writing, design and project coordination functions related to Marketing and Communications activities in conjunction with internal and external communications.

    This job is responsible for participating in the planning, coordinating and implementing of internal initiatives for the CHI Saint Joseph Health Health Marketing & Communications Department.  An incumbent works closely with CHI Saint Joseph Health administration, providers and community, as well as colleagues in the Marketing and Communications department, in support of the organization’s business and communications goals within the assigned functional area.   

    Work includes, but is not limited to: 1) creating multimedia content for internal and external channels, including social media, internal newsletters and consumer publications; 2) coordinating and implementing strategies for InsideSaintJoseph.org, the organization’s intranet; 3) assisting with tasks related to CHISaintJosephHealth.org, including posting to the the consumer website; 4) working with agency partners and internal staff to coordinate projects; 5) assisting with media relations efforts and tracking media; 6) providing administrative support to the department.

    An incumbent is exposed to confidential information which includes frequent contact with internal customers, event committees, vendors, public and other staff in order to support organizational objectives.

    Work requires good writing and editing skills, video creation skills, knowledge of general marketing/communication standards and practices, and the ability to meet strict deadlines and work both independently and in a team environment to service a variety of clients.  Also requires knowledge of social media channels and expertise with Google and Adobe platforms.     

    This position also supports the web-based communications strategy and structure, including web-based tools, social media and the intranet.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Required Education and Experience 

    Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Journalism, English, Communications, Public Relations or a related field.

    Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Training

    Two years related work experience that would demonstrate attainment of the requisite job knowledge/abilities.  An equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of the position may be considered in lieu of education. Strong skills in written and verbal communications are required. Must be able to create and build advertisements, flyers and other publication materials. Must have strong written and oral communications skills. Must have organizational skills to handle multiple priorities and projects at one time. Must be willing and able to assist with coordination and staffing of events at the hospitals and in the community. Must possess strong interpersonal relationship skills to interface with the public and employees, and work effectively with a wide variety of people on a variety of projects. Ability to plan, organize and carry out tasks with minimal supervision.  Must be able to occasionally adjust work hours to accommodate department needs. Working experience in healthcare preferred. Work experience involving social media, photography and videography  and Google Platforms preferred.
