Operations/Sales Manager – Oakbrook, IL
$120,000 - $150,000 fully paid family benefits, liberal PTO, etc.
The Operations Manager’s primary focus is representing and advancing through business development the unionized construction industry, primarily in Chicago and Cook County. This position involves sales, marketing, budgeting and public relations, with numerous industry related events. The Operations Manager will work under the direction of our Executive Director overseeing the operations and strategic initiatives determined by our Board of Trustees.
Responsibilities
- Work on business development and marketing initiatives that support the strategic plan and policy directed by the Board of Trustees
- Work to create programs that best serve the goals of the marketing plan and promote members
- Assist in public relations opportunities, and identify and develop strategic alliances
- Engage member contractors and oversee their promotion and involvement in strategic business development
- Assist in identifying new ventures to grow union construction market share
- Oversee and administer charitable projects, contributions and philanthropic initiatives
- Financial management, budgeting, audit and records maintenance, and assurance of compliance with organization regulations
- Work to establish efficient policies and procedures to support Trust Fund assets
- Contract review, legal and liability protection for the Trust Fund in conjunction with the legal team
- Asset management and associated compliance with state and federal regulations
- Assist in recruiting, training and supervising staff
Requirements
- Occasional local, regional, and national travel (to include over nights)
- Strong organizational and communication skills for sales development
- Ability to navigate and participate in all forms of social media
- Strong work ethic, problem solving abilities, and willingness and capability to work as part of a team
- Excel in a fast paced, customer-service environment
- General knowledge of business and finance
- Ability and flexibility to work and attend industry events, some on off hours
