This position is responsible for and provides the overall leadership and management of budget, staff, services, and programs involved in general corrective, emergency and preventative maintenance of assigned structural shops; minor projects, roofs, elevators, infection control risk assessment program (ICRA) and associated regulatory requirements including department spill prevention, control and countermeasure program (SPCC).
Human Resource Management: Provides direct leadership to Operations Supervisor and structural shop staff to ensure daily corrective and emergent work is completed in a timely manner. Responsible for the completion of staff training, required compliances and the use of the computer maintenance management system (CMMS).
Financial: Develops and maintains minor and assigned project and operational budgets. Creates, approves and receives financial requisitions. Utilizes Project Manager module in CMMS to track project schedules and budget.
Carpenter, Finishes, Locksmith, Medical Instruments and Sign shops: Through the leadership of the Operations Supervisor, this position has overall responsibility for the coordination and quality of workmanship of carpentry, structural, finishes, locksmith, medical instrument, and graphics shops.
Project Oversight: Oversees minor project program including but not limited to project design, estimates, budget, and schedule. Responsible for staff, infection control and interdepartmental coordination to complete projects in a timely manner. Develops bid specifications and works directly with capital management and university departments to create and issue a request for proposal for minor projects. Ensures projects meet the design and construction standards of the department and university.
Roof Maintenance Program: Responsible for the roof maintenance and repair program that includes subcontractor and staff inspections, repairs and documentation. Ensures documentation including ATG mapping, warranty library, CMMS repairs and state requirements are maintained and completed.
Elevator Maintenance Program: Responsible for the elevator maintenance and repair program including state inspection and permit requirements, project and repair coordination and oversight of service and repair contractors. Ensures documentation of service, repairs and warranty information is entered into CMMS.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensures the spill prevention, control and countermeasure (SPCC) and emergency generator emissions program meets university document requirements.
Infection Control: Responsible for the infection control risk assessment (ICRA) program for Engineering Services including approval of ICRAs, coordination and attendance of ICRA work group meetings and ensuring orientation and training of department staff occurs.
Responds to emergency calls 24/7.
