Discharge Coordinator directs daily operation of record processing to ensure that discharge records are properly received, organized, and forwarded to the appropriate physician for completion. Audits medical records to guarantee compliance with institution standards, procedures and policies. Being a Discharge Coordinator may require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. GENERAL SUMMARY: Under the supervision of a registered pharmacist, assists in the distribution and processing of prescriptions and the sale of over-the-counter medications enters prescription data into computer. Performs billings and file maintenance. Receives payments for prescriptions and other purchases. Assists in the stocking and storage of inventory. Interacts and communicates with the public. Reports to pharmacists.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required. Minimum of six (6) months of retail pharmacy experience preferred.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED: Requires valid State of Michigan Pharmacy Technician license.
