Distribution Center Manager manages the overall planning, organizing, and operations of a distribution center. Oversees all distribution functions, including order processing, picking, packaging, shipping, and receiving. Being a Distribution Center Manager monitors inventory levels to ensure sufficient levels to fulfill all orders. Balances workloads as needed to achieve production and delivery goals for each shift. Additionally, Distribution Center Manager utilizes software, data, and analytics to optimize operations, track production metrics, and anticipate and resolve problems. Provides the necessary equipment, tools, and training to staff to ensure safe, secure, and efficient operations. Complies with all OSHA and other regulations, policies, safety procedures, and documentation requirements. May evaluate and select transportation or freight services, negotiate contracts, and manage vendor relations. May require a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Distribution Center Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Distribution Center Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     What You’ll Do:

    In the role of Distribution Center Manager, you will lead a team of DC associates in all general Distribution Center (DC) activities.  Such activities include overseeing day to day order processing, inventory control, and transportation decisions.  Additional responsibilities include facility management, expense control, site safety and security. 

    This is a highly visible role.  The right individual must be comfortable working with both local and national sales teams in a time sensitive, transactional work environment. Ideal candidate must be a confident, yet humble team player with a can-do attitude. Most importantly, a candidate must have a proven track record to lead, train and develop people in fast paced work environment.

    Working Conditions:
    • This position will lead a team of 50 to 60 employees on all necessary activities
    • This is a hands-on position. Individual must be comfortable driving a forklift and lifting up to 70 lbs. routinely throughout the day as you will be required to work alongside your team in satisfying the daily workload. 
    • Be available on-call for nights, weekends and holidays for after hour emergency orders
    What You’ll Need:
    • Minimum 7 to 10 years distribution experience in a leadership role
    • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills - must be detail oriented
    • Prior experience working closely with a sales team.
    • Must be mechanically inclined enough to troubleshoot minor equipment issues
    • Carrier selection and freight tendering experience
    • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
    • Prior experience using WMS, TMS, and Microsoft Office software
    • A calm, level-headed demeanor and positive attitude when dealing with stressful situations
    Bonus:
    • Bachelor’s Degree with focus on Supply Chain and/or logistics
    • Military training and/or experience
    • Bilingual
