DATTCO is searching for a Divisional Controller for our DeVivo Companies Division. The Divisional Controller will play a key role in supporting the accounting and finance needs of the division including accurate recording of balance sheet and income statement transactions. This individual will also aid in accurate and timely financial reporting and planning, including variance analyses and key performance indicator monitoring. A strong background in accounting, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to effectively communicate complex financial concepts to stakeholders across the division is required.

Primary Responsibilities - Ensures accurate recordkeeping and reconciliation of all accounting and finance transactions.
- Determines or reviews and approves accounting entries for various transactions.
- Prepares and analyzes department, divisional and consolidated month-end balance sheet and income statement.
- Produces comparative analysis to budget, forecast and other management reports as required.
- Maintains fixed asset records.
- Prepares and maintains schedules and workpapers for balance sheet accounts.
- Ensures accurate recording and payment of all federal and state tax reporting and compliance.
- Establish and monitor internal controls and safeguards.
- Adheres to financial policies.
- Assesses internal controls for adequacy.
- Develops processes for consistent internal controls.
- Coordinates certain activities with external CPA firm as needed.
- Perform financial reporting and analyses.
- Works with CFO and DeVivo Companies leadership to determine information and analysis needs.
- Provides financial analysis for current operations and new business initiatives.
- Provides implications, insights, alternatives and recommendations.
- Determines, monitors and analyzes key performance indicators.
- Perform financial planning including budgets and forecasts.
- Develops annual budgets and required forecasts as required.
- Presents actual financial results compared to approved budgets and forecasts providing insights, alternative plans and recommendations.
- Has oversight for cash balances and activity.
- Monitors cash balances.
- Provides periodic cash forecasts
- Provides oversight to and mentors direct staff that supports accounting and finance responsibilities within the division.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, market dynamics, and regulatory changes that may impact financial performance, and incorporate insights into financial planning and analysis activities.
Position Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- 5 years of experience in an accounting controller capacity, with a track record of progressive responsibility and leadership.
- Experience in automotive or medium truck dealership accounting and finance operations preferred.
- Strong financial modeling skills and proficiency with Excel; experience with financial planning software preferred.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to effectively communicate complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders, both verbally and in writing.
- Proven leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire, motivate, and develop a high-performing team.
- Strategic mindset with a focus on driving continuous improvement and delivering business results.
- CPA, CMA, or other relevant professional certification(s) a plus.
