Anodizing Operator

EXPERIENCE PREFFERED IN METAL FINISHING: ANODIZING/PLATING/PASSIVATION/CHROMATE CONVERSION

This is a physically engaging position, but it also requires you to think on your feet. There is plenty to learn in the metal finishing business, and for the right person it can be a very rewarding career.

Anodizing Operator

Basic Function:

Responsible for inspecting, cleaning and processing work through various types of anodize and chemical film baths in accordance with detailed work instructions and procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Perform daily cleaning, anodizing, chemical film and other finishing operations.
• Fill out job travelers.
• Follow instructions in the work order and examine product to ensure conformance to work instructions and procedures.
• Identify and monitor work throughout anodizing process and keep accurate counts on parts.
• Visually inspect work prior to, during and after finishing in accordance with procedures.
• Perform qualified testing on parts in accordance with work instructions.
• Responsible for inspection and safely handling customer work.
• Identify work, maintain traceability and preserve the quality of customer’s work.
• Responsible for meeting required job time lines and due dates.
• Responsible for starting up and shutting down rectifiers.
• Assist in maintaining cleaning and anodize baths.
• Maintain and clean anodizing and chemical film tanks and equipment –flushing hoods daily, strip racks, etc.
• Ensure temperatures and levels in anodize baths are within limits and in control.
• Required to label all chemical containers in anodize area and keep anodizing isles and work areas clean.
• Ensure safe handling and proper storage of chemicals after use.
• Ensure all testing equipment is within calibration dates.
• Ensure use of proper safety equipment and MSDS sheets through hazardous communication program.
• Know proper emergency procedures.
• Assist in controlling nonconforming product.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma
• Read, write & speak English
• Ability to differentiate between colors
• Some knowledge of the chemical process helpful
• Good Maintenance skills
• Manufacturing background a plus
• Good mechanical skills helpful in troubleshooting
• Walking, standing lifting daily
• Experience working with chemicals and dyes a plus
• Experience w/ calipers & micrometers is a plus
• Ability to work overtime as needed, sometimes on short notice

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
