Drilling Operations Director directs and oversees the drilling, production, and engineering operations for an organization. Oversees all aspects of planning and executing drilling projects, developing oil and gas fields, and analyzing reserves. Being a Drilling Operations Director is responsible for directing revisions or enhancements to troubleshoot and solve drilling problems. May coordinate drilling contractors and production managers/superintendents. Additionally, Drilling Operations Director requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a top management. The Drilling Operations Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Drilling Operations Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

    The primary duties of the Director of Operations will include direct contact and communication with all District Managers including international districts. Development and oversight of operating policies and procedures, organize and coordinate all activities associated with the delivery of BICO's drilling motors and tools to the company’s customer base. This role will need to have a high sense of urgency and responsiveness to all critical operational needs. 


    Requirements

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    •  Develop and execute strategic plans to optimize overall operational efficiency and effectiveness, with a primary focus on profit and loss (P&L) responsibilities.
    •  Develop and manage budgets for operations, monitoring expenses and ensuring cost-effective operations.
    •  Responsible for maintaining a high quality of the services delivered to the customer
    •  Analyze financial data and key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement and implement cost-effective solutions to enhance profitability.
    •  Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive process improvements, streamline workflows, and implement best practices to maximize operational performance.
    •  Collaborate with the quality team to continuously improve product quality and reliability. Stay abreast of industry trends and technological advancements, leveraging new tools and techniques to enhance product offerings.
    •  Work closely with customer-facing teams to ensure timely delivery, responsiveness, and overall customer satisfaction.
    •  Lead, mentor, and develop the operations team, fostering a culture of collaboration, growth, and excellence.
    • Support training and skill development initiatives to enhance team capabilities Collaborate closely with sales, engineering, and other departments to align operational goals with overall company objectives.
    •  Work closely with customer-facing teams to ensure timely delivery, responsiveness, and overall customer satisfaction

    EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

    •  Bachelors degree in related field required OR Extensive experience within related field 
    •  3 years as senior management including 5 years management experience within downhole drilling operations required
    •  Fluent in English with strong written and communication skills
    •  Proven track record optimizing manufacturing operations 
    •  In-depth knowledge of downhole drilling motors/tools and industry best practices
    •  Exceptional multitasking and adaptability in fast-paced environments 
    •  Quick information evaluation and practical judgment
    •  Unwavering commitment to high personal conduct standards and professionalism 
    •  Excellence in independent tasks, building respectful relationships across all levels 
    •  Balances autonomy with collaborative teamwork, fostering a cooperative culture

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    •  Ability to travel domestically and internationally, 30% or more
    •  Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and components, up to 25 pounds 
    •  Operate basic office equipment
    •  Sit and/or stand for long periods of time, up to 8-10 hours a day 
    •  Walk/travel to production areas while wearing appropriate PPE, which at a minimum includes safety glasses, steel toe shoes and a hard hat
    •  Operate a motor vehicle per company Vehicle Use Requirements
