Electric Motor Assembler jobs in Alabama

Manville Electric/Manville Material Handling Solutions is seeking a winder for our electric motor shop. We are looking for someone to rewind motors in our clean, air-conditioned and well-appointed shop. Our mechanic of 30 years is looking to retire, and would train the new mechanic on the ins and outs of the motor repair business. Electric motor service experience is helpful, but not a requirement for this job.

Motor Rewind Technician must possess the ability to perform the following:

Inspect various kinds of electromechanical equipment for damage and evidence of electrical malfunctions.

Test condition of windings.

Illustrate and/or document all relevant data specific to unit’s electromagnetic characteristics, operating conditions, existing damage, or intended serviceability.

Dismantle and/or strip damaged or unserviceable electromechanical equipment.

Prepare all reusable parts for rewinding and inspect renewed parts for hidden, structural damage or unusual conditions.

Rewind various kinds of electromechanical equipment, including but not limited to: three-phase AC, DC nice to have but not required. Observe proper insulating techniques and/or requirements during rewinding.

Test rewound electromechanical equipment and document test results.

 Complete required paperwork for each job accurately and on a timely basis.

 Operate specialized repair and testing equipment.

 Observe all safety procedures and use proper protective gear (especially eye and ear protection)

 Keep work area neat and clean as directed by Shop Manager.

 Perform other skilled and non-skilled duties as directed by Shop Manager.
