POSITION: Electrical Design Engineer

LOCATION: Blackfoot, Idaho

JOB SUMMARY:

Design and produce electrical and electronic assemblies used on manufactured equipment. Troubleshoot electrical issues, provide a high level of customer support, and provide adequate training to electrical assembly personnel. Designers will prepare accurate and detailed bills of materials, schematics, and instructions necessary to facilitate the production of designed materials. Quality of workmanship, attention to detail, and self-motivation are required qualities for this position. Teamwork and customer service skills are vitally important as the employee will work directly and indirectly with customers, vendors, employees, supervisors and managers. Designer will demonstrate high level of responsibility and accountability, working effectively and efficiently. They must be able to work with their hands outdoors as well as being capable of designing in an office environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned as necessary.

• Design motor control circuits that incorporate components to produce desired electrical logic.
• Design electrical circuits using ladder logic.
• Utilize AutoCAD to create detailed electrical designs, including wiring diagrams, layouts, and schematics.
• Specify electrical components, such as sensors, PLCs, and motor controllers.
• Prepare Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Work closely with the Mechanical, Electrical, and Software Engineering teams to integrate electrical systems into the overall equipment design.
• Ensure that designs meet all safety and regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with Engineering Management to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS:

• Must hold current and valid driver’s license.
• Ability to travel as necessary to resolve customer issues in the field.
• Excellent computer skills with knowledge of CAD-drafting programs and spreadsheets, word processing documents, and other applicable computer systems and software.
• Ability to read, understand, and design electrical schematics.
• Ability to perform duties and responsibilities efficiently, accurately, and in a safe manner.
• Experience programming and specifying VFD drives, PLC and motor control systems desirable.
