    YOUTH ADVOCATE Part-Time/Full-Time

    Job description


    Hours: 40 hours per week (Full-time), 10 hours per week (Part-time). Sunday through Saturday – All hours, including: day, evening, and night, as needed to cover shifts.

    • Required Qualifications:
      • Must be a minimum of 21 years of age
      • Must have a valid driver’s license and be an insurable driver
      • Driving record must not reflect more than two moving violations (and none for over 10 miles per hour above the speed limit) within the last three years nor any DUI’s within the last five (5) years
      • Must have a high school diploma or a General Equivalency Diploma (G.E.D.)
      • Must be a mature, responsible role model who enjoys working with youth and families
      • Must not appear on the child abuse registry
      • Must be able to lift 25 to 50 pounds and be able to stand for extended periods of time
      • Must pass all required drug and alcohol screenings
      • Must have the ability to work a variety of shifts, as needed
      • Preferred qualifications
        • Prior experience working with youth and families
        • Strong work ethics
        • Willingness to work evenings and weekends

    CASE MANAGER

    The Case Manager is a full-time position charged with the responsibility for the physical and emotional well being of the residents of Youth Emergency Services, Inc. Work involves responsibility for the following: safety of the residents; cleanliness of Youth Emergency Services, Inc.; providing a good role model; offering emotional support; and creating a homelike atmosphere in the house.

    Qualifications:

    Must be 21 years old with a high school diploma or GED. 1-2 years working experience working with youth preferred.

    Job Duties and Responsibilities:

    Responsible of day to day client case managing

    Complete all documentation and paperwork for clients

    Attend all treatment plan, MDT, court hearing and any other client meeting needs

    Arrange all medical appointments for clients

    Collaborate with therapist, school DFS probation officer, judges, parents, and clients in creating and sustaining success for clients

    Create a safe, structured, and caring environment for clients

    Prepare nutritious meals

    Ensure the cleanliness of the cottage

    Supervise clients

    Transport clients to appointments

    Handle telephone calls and referrals

    Plan activities for the clients

    Daily documentation of client’s activities and behaviors

    Work as a team member

    Participate in at least one agency’s committee per year

    Facilitate groups as assigned

    Role model daily living expectations

    Ensure the Agency’s mission, policies and procedures are followed

    Follow all rules/policies of Youth Emergency Services, Inc.

    ASSISTANT COORDINATOR

    General Description:

    The Assistant Coordinator provides case management in addition to supporting the Program Coordinator by being responsible for the day to day operation of the Program when the Coordinator is not present.

    Qualifications:

    Minimum GED or High School Diploma and be at least 21 years of age. At least 2 years experience in youth services. Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

    Job Duties & Responsibilities

    1. Ability to perform requirements of Case Manager and Youth Advocate

    2. Provide case management for clients as directed by Coordinator

    3. Review referrals with Therapy and Education making recommendation on acceptance

    4. Address staff/disciplinary issues in absence of coordinator

    5. Assist with hiring, interviewing, supervision, support, training and evaluations as needed

    6. Assist with scheduling, assuring adequate coverage, and anticipating demands.

    7. Facilitate grievance process

    8. Responsible for ensuring client logs and aftercare program are complete

    9. Direct case management and maintaining case load as needed.

    10. Supervision of case management and treatment plans.

    11. Ensure the Agency’s mission, policies and procedures are followed.

    12. Work as a team member.

    13. Follow all rules/policies of Youth Emergency Services, Inc.

    14. Ability to change as the job changes

    THERAPIST

    The Therapist (licensed & provisional) work under the supervision of the Clinical Director to provide individual, group therapy, and career/job skill assessment to YES House School students. Will perform evaluations, intakes, MDTs, treatment plans, and other duties as needed. Participates in normal on call rotation. Will follow Wyoming Professional License, rules and regulation for professional standards. Must be proficient/efficient with computers and various software programs, including electronic documentation.

    A master’s degree in a mental health discipline or related field is required. Licensed or provisional licensure as a mental health professional is required. Must be able to complete DCI background check, abuse & neglect registry check as well as other post-offer/pre-employment checks. MSW and provisional/Full licensure is preferred, must be proficient/efficient with computers and various software programs, including electronic documentation.     COMMUNITY PROGRAMS DIRECTOR

    Qualifications:

    Bachelor’s degree in Human Service field, with consideration given for an advanced Degree and Non-profit youth service executive leadership experience preferred. Experience with grant writing, grant management, and program implementation, also preferred.

    Examples of Duties and Responsibilities:

    1. The Community Programs Director, as a member of the Y.E.S. House leadership team, is responsible for the strategic development, implementation, and oversite of programs and personnel to ensure the highest quality services are provided to youth, families, and young adults to achieve the agencies mission.

    2. Provide program direction, oversight, and support of the Transitional Living Programs, Mentorship, and Learn and Grow programs, employees, and youth.

    3. Provide direction, oversight, and support of the Y.E.S. House maintenance department, to include facility planning, budgeting, project management. Plan, direct, and support maintenance of landscaping and grounds.

    4. The Community Programs Director is responsible for overseeing YES House Staff in meeting all licensing, certifying and accreditation standards and meeting with personnel as site visits are conducted. Respond to corrections or recommendations that are suggested by the visiting agency.

    5. Maintain and ensure updates are made to CARF standards and practices. Attend committee meetings, write policy, conduct quality assurance checks, review services, business practices, respond to information. Plan, and implement strategies to complete reports, implement new or revised standards.

    6. Assist the Development Director and Foundation Director in specific grant writing/management tasks including grant reporting, project management for new grants, and data entry requirements.

    7. Responsible for ensuring that local and state and federal standards and codes are followed. Conduct monthly, quarterly and yearly safety, vehicle, Fire, Health, inspections.

    8. Review incident reports and provide training and/or guidance to agency staff.

    9. Responsible for ensuring that the entire agency operates under established policies that are reviewed on a regular basis.

    10. Assist the Executive Director in the promotion of the value and achievement of outcomes in the programs and services offered.

    11. Attend Coordinator’s meetings, safety committee meetings, Employee Appreciation Committee meetings, periodically attend staff meetings and additional meetings as needed.

    12. Responsible to take on job duties of the other Directors when they are taking Paid Time Off or unable to fulfill their job.

    13. Responsible for developing and /or maintaining community partnerships and agency programs that support the agency carrying out its mission as a community-based youth and family service provider.

    14. Assist the Executive Director in attending monthly meetings that the YES House has membership in.

    15. Provide public presentations on the Y.E.S. House services and advocate for youth and families.

    16. Facilitate community focus groups, gather input from the board, staff, clients, stakeholders and the community and report on the outcome.

    17. Plan and facilitate the Y.E.S. House Strategic Plan. Implement and accomplish the goals and objectives of the Strategic Plan and generate reports.

    18. Organize and facilitate Y.E.S. House fundraising events with YES House staff members.
