Being an EMPLOYMENT MANAGER maintains good relationships with all advertisement and recruitment agencies. Develops the most effective, economical and appropriate recruiting channels and methods. In addition, EMPLOYMENT MANAGER requires a bachelor's degree or its equivalent. Typically reports to a director. The EMPLOYMENT MANAGER manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department processes. Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, rehabilitation counseling or a related field (master's degree preferred); five years in supported employment for individuals with developmental disabilities, three years of supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Knowledge of developmental disabilities; of mental health and employment; ability to problem-solve. Requires the ability to develop new and innovative programs, strategic planning, maintaining good professional relationships with the public and business partners. Experience in resource management, project management, public relations, must be organized and flexible. Ability to plan, organize and direct a comprehensive program of mental health services; to interpret and apply county, state and federal regulations, policies and guidelines related to Supported Employment; to analyze and interpret program data; to communicate effectively orally and in writing; to develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers; to supervise staff. Experience in utilizing an EHR; preferred knowledge of person-centered thinking and practices and HCBS. Current valid driver’s license and good driving record required. Based on the Virginia DMV point system, record must not reflect a total of six or more demerit points within the twenty-four months preceding the anticipated hire date, or one major violation of six demerit points within the preceding thirty-six months. Out of state driving records must be obtained by applicant and presented at time of interview. Records must reflect at least three years of history and be dated within thirty days of interview date. Pre-employment drug testing, FBI criminal background check and education/degree verification required.
Provides overall management and leadership for state-of-the-art employment services for Chesterfield County citizens with developmental disabilities. Leads planning, implementation and on-going evaluation and effectiveness of Chesterfield Employment Services. Manage both human and financial resources that include over 90 staff and 200 individuals. Actively participate in professional organizations in the field that will influence monetary, legislative outcomes that benefit the individuals or services provided. Perform other work as required.
