Endoscopy Technician jobs in Oak Park, IL

• The Endoscopy Technician is responsible for duties to include, but not limited to the following: Assist physician in endoscopy procedures under the supervision of the registered nurse and the physician; responsible for decontamination and reprocessing of endoscopy equipment; responsible for care and maintenance of endoscopy equipment and other patient care equipment; and assisting the registered nurse, as directed, in the patient admission, recovery, and / or discharge process.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• At least one year of experience in a GI surgery environment with working knowledge and proficiency in the use of endoscopy equipment.
• Ambulatory setting experience preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology required.
• Solid experience with endoscope reprocessing
• Duties include reprocessing endoscopes, assisting in procedures, setting up patient procedure rooms, and assisting the clinical team in delivering high quality professional care while achieving optimal patient satisfaction.
• Requires effective communication skills, solid team player and a commitment to providing excellent patient service and professionalism.

The hours are Monday-Friday with occasional Saturdays, no add-ons, no holidays or call.

• Good communications skills. Experience using a keyboard and computers.
• Familiarity with equipment used in ambulatory care.
• Current AHA CPR certification
• Bilingual in Spanish is highly preferred
• Ability to work in stressful conditions and difficult situations.
• Resilient and flexible in a changing environment. May be exposed to hazardous materials and life threatening diseases.
• Ability to cooperate and work with others.
• Ability to make sound and timely decisions.
• Ability to perform lifting/transfer activities related to patients as needed, ability to stoop/bend.

Purpose

Will support the providers in delivering quality health care to ambulatory patients and perform a variety of related tasks to promote continuity of care.

Job Type: Part-time

Expected hours: 16 – 24 per week
