Energy Representative, Sr. is responsible for providing energy efficiency advice to customers. Being an Energy Representative, Sr. develops and distributes educational material; evaluates and recommends alternatives to existing systems or processes. May require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Additionally, Energy Representative, Sr. typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. To be an Energy Representative, Sr. typically requires 4 to 7 years of related experience. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project.     Energy Service Representative responsibilities include prospecting for qualified small and medium business customers, conducting energy assessments, developing solutions for lighting, refrigeration, HVAC, Weatherization and more. Presenting proposals to customers and signing up new customers for the electric and gas utility program design.     Responsibilities:

    • Conduct onsite energy assessments of non-residential buildings which includes but is not limited to identifying existing lighting and refrigeration equipment.
    • Prospect and develop new business relationships within your territory.
    • Conduct needs analysis to determine the best energy efficiency products for customers.
    • Provide information to customers on available utility incentives and program details.
    • Prepare and present proposals that recommend energy conservation measures, provide customer costs and incentives, and then sell the value proposition to the customer.
    • Maintain strong ongoing communications with customers to assure customer satisfaction.
    • Track pipeline, maintain Outlook calendar with field appointments and monitor progress towards program goals.
    • Meet or exceed set proposal and sales objectives.
    • Responsible for representing the company in a professional manner and abiding by all safety and employee guidelines.
    • Responsible for maintaining and protecting all company equipment issued.

    Job Requirements:

    • Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills.
    • Detail-oriented with the ability to work to schedules and objectives.
    • Ability to learn and present energy efficient lighting and refrigeration concepts.
    • Proven ability to conduct successful cold calls and generate leads.
    • Team player with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
    • Local working knowledge of assigned territory preferred.
    • Sound business ethics, including the protection of proprietary and confidential information.
    • Proficiency with technology, including use of iPad and MS Office Applications (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel).
    • Must possess a valid driver's license applicable to state laws and dependable transportation.
    • 2 - 5 years of outside sales experience.

    • Experience with energy auditing or commercial lighting a plus.

    • Must be able to type on a computer keyboard, use 10-key, dial a telephone and efficiently utilize other common office equipment requiring the ability to use fingers and hands on a regular basis using fine motor movements.Must be able to lift and carry up to 10 pounds on a regular basis and 25 pounds on an occasional basis.Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
    • Must be able to effectively communicate, both in writing and verbally, complex ideas, information, and concepts to all levels in the organization including executive management. Must be able to participate in verbal and written conversations, requiring ability to read, talk, hear, and understand what others are communicating as well as able to write, speak and effectively communicate with others.
