Joint Use Engineer I will support project teams in creating high-quality designs for joint use projects. This role involves working on a variety of joint use tasks including clearance-based design, stress analysis, and preparation of construction documentation, The role focuses on coordinating with telecommunication companies, electric utilities, Department(s) of Transportation, and other utilities. The Engineer I will collaborate with the project team throughout the design and construction process, adapting plans according to budget constraints, design factors, and client needs.

Essential Functions:

1. Utilize suite of software to meet client requirements for joint use design projects. This will include clearance-based design and/or pole loading analysis.
2. Apply basic knowledge of commonly used utility and joint use design practices, codes, and procedures.
3. Assist in the development and modification of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) on an ongoing basis.
4. Execute design requirements utilizing NESC guidelines and client standards.
5. Collaborate with designers to interpret client requirements and coordinate with telecommunication companies and other utilities.
6. Assist with organizing and maintaining project files and client deliverables and project communications.
7. Additional engineering/design duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Must be currently eligible to work in the United States.
• STEM Degree from an accredited university.
• Successful completion of Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) or Engineerin-Training (EIT) is strongly preferred.
• Basic knowledge of standard engineering techniques, procedures, and joint use design principles is preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problemsolving environment with demonstrated critical thinking skills.
• Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization, and problemsolving skills.
