    IT Director of Infrastructure & Operations

    The Director of Infrastructure & Operations is a key member of the IT Leadership team. Primary responsibilities include the development of the overall vision, integrated strategy, analysis, architectural design, development and purposeful execution across all emerging infrastructure and operations functions including cloud, virtualization, storage, end-user computing, enterprise tools, communications, messaging, networks and the Enterprise IT Service Desk. Through a consulting relationship with key business clients, this person will proactively deliver high-quality, innovative, fully architected, strategic solutions aligned with clear business requirements. Reporting directly to the CIO, this person will challenge the status quo and consistently seek opportunities to re-engineer processes and re-architect solutions. This will be accomplished through passionate situational leadership, inspiration, mentoring and exceptional management of a small team of IT professionals executing key initiatives through the full project management lifecycle.

    This is a direct hire role, with onsite requirements/ weekly hybrid- 3 days in office in the Kannapolis/Concord NC, conveniently located off Interstate 85

    The salary range is $170,000 - $185,000 plus bonus/benefits.

    Oversee infrastructure design, delivery, operations, and support (Cloud, Network, Storage, Database, and virtualization).

    Provide senior-level technical expertise and leadership in the areas of IT architecture, design, support, and service delivery.

    Analyze IT infrastructure needs and lead the design and implementation of new system architectures.

    Manage Infrastructure Operations staff and Network security staff and contractors to ensure that business processes are streamlined and optimized for value.

    Research, evaluate, and stay current on emerging security tools, trends, policies, best practices, techniques, and technologies.

    Proven experience in best practices for cloud architecture and security.

    Formulate and deploy long-term strategic plans for acquiring and enabling efficient and cost-effective information processing and communication technologies.

    Develop and review budgets for and from IT department divisions and ensure they comply with stated goals, guidelines, and objectives.

    Benchmark, analyze, report on, and make recommendations for the improvement of the IT infrastructure and IT systems.

    Authorize and oversee the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, and support of all hardware and software based on department needs.

    Develop business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for IT spending and initiatives.

    Direct research on potential technology solutions and implementations in support of new initiatives, opportunities, and procurement efforts.

    Main Duties

    Oversee provision of end-user services, including help desk and technical support services.

    Develop and implement all IT policies and procedures, including those for architecture, security, disaster recovery, standards, purchasing, and service provision.

    Oversee negotiation and administration of vendor, outsourcer, and consultant contracts and service agreements.

    Expert level administration and maintenance of VMware ESXi.

    Experience with public/private cloud models (Strong AWS best practices and security).

    5 years working with Microsoft’s Cloud Suite: Azure, Office 365, Teams, InTune, etc.

    Familiarity with Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI), preferably VMware Horizon or Citrix XenDesktop.

    Experience managing and configuring servers, firewalls, and networks.

    Experience building and managing a Disaster Recovery (DR) Infrastructure Familiarity with the principles of DevOps and a strong desire for delivering repeatable solutions through automation.

    Strong Security background and ability to monitor and mitigate the latest threats and discuss the organization’s security posture in detail with customers, partners, and relevant third parties.

    REQUIREMENTS

    M.S. or B.S. in Computer Science\Engineering or related field.

    Minimum 10 years of total IT experience.

    Progressive hands-on technical experience in IT infrastructure – architecture, systems administration, routing/switching, network design, database systems, virtualization, storage area networks, etc.

    Experience in supporting enterprise applications in a high-availability environment.

    Background and understanding of ITIL Service management.

    Demonstrates strong leadership and management skills as evidenced by prior management of a team for 3-5 years.

    10 years of Infrastructure and Security experience, 3-5 at a senior level.

     Nice to have Skills:

    Telecommunications experience preferred.
