    Carollo Engineers is an internationally environmental engineering firm that specializes in the planning, design, and construction of water and wastewater facilities. We are seeking an entry-level Water Process Engineer with an interest in designing Advanced Water Treatment Facilities. The successful candidate will begin a rewarding career designing facilities that incorporate membrane filtration (reverse osmosis, ultrafiltration, etc.), brine treatment, semiconductor process water treatment, seawater, and brackish water desalination.

     

    The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a strong desire to continue building their technical knowledge gained throughout their education. They'll have a creative passion that fuels their desire to apply engineering and water treatment principles to water purification problems. They will have the rare opportunity of working side-by-side with, and being mentored by, national experts. They'll work on projects across the country.     Responsibilities

    • Performing engineering work for advanced water and wastewater treatment facilities

    • Work on engineering planning and design projects

    • Prepare technical reports

    • Develop plans and specifications

    • Prepare cost estimates for various water and wastewater projects

    • Develop process models

    • Perform permitting and alternative analysis

    • Preparation of technical memoranda, reports, and electronic deliverables

    • Data entry and analysis

    • Provide engineering services during construction

    • Participate in field activities such as pilot testing

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Environmental, Chemical or other similar Engineering field

    • Minimum academic requirements include coursework in physical, chemical, and biological processes; hydraulics; and principles of water and wastewater treatment plant and infrastructure design

    • 0 to 4 years of directly relevant experience in water and wastewater engineering

    • Engineer-in-Training Certification (completed or soon to be completed)

    • Application of engineering principles including critical thinking, analysis, and innovative techniques

    • Strong verbal and written communication skills

    • Work well in a team environment

    • Highly motivated, articulate, and self-starting

    • Proficient in MS Word and Excel

       

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Master’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering

    • Familiarity with computer applications including ArcGIS, AutoCAD, and water and sewer hydraulic calculations/modeling software (WaterGEMS, InfoWater, InfoWorks ICM, InfoSWMM)

    • Familiarity with Membrane process modeling software

    • Strong background in chemistry and water chemistry
