Performing engineering work for advanced water and wastewater treatment facilities
Work on engineering planning and design projects
Prepare technical reports
Develop plans and specifications
Prepare cost estimates for various water and wastewater projects
Develop process models
Perform permitting and alternative analysis
Preparation of technical memoranda, reports, and electronic deliverables
Data entry and analysis
Provide engineering services during construction
Participate in field activities such as pilot testing
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Environmental, Chemical or other similar Engineering field
Minimum academic requirements include coursework in physical, chemical, and biological processes; hydraulics; and principles of water and wastewater treatment plant and infrastructure design
0 to 4 years of directly relevant experience in water and wastewater engineering
Engineer-in-Training Certification (completed or soon to be completed)
Application of engineering principles including critical thinking, analysis, and innovative techniques
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Work well in a team environment
Highly motivated, articulate, and self-starting
Proficient in MS Word and Excel
Master’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
Familiarity with computer applications including ArcGIS, AutoCAD, and water and sewer hydraulic calculations/modeling software (WaterGEMS, InfoWater, InfoWorks ICM, InfoSWMM)
Familiarity with Membrane process modeling software
Strong background in chemistry and water chemistry
