Environmental, Health and Safety Director oversees organizational compliance with local, state and federal environment, health and safety regulations. Ensures that environmental policy and procedure manuals are available and updated at all times. Being an Environmental, Health and Safety Director ensures compliance with all environmental, health and safety regulations, and keeps abreast of any changes to laws and regulations that impact the organization. Ensures projects are completed on time and within budget. Additionally, Environmental, Health and Safety Director requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a unit/department head. The Environmental, Health and Safety Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     As a Health & Safety Specialist, is seeking someone that can work on a wide range of projects in an environment that fosters creativity, collaboration at all levels, a culture of support, and professional growth.     What You Will Be Doing:

    • The person hired for this position will primarily perform health & safety (H&S) consulting services including industrial hygiene (air contaminant, noise, etc.) surveys in various industries (e.g., aerospace, manufacturing, and pulp and paper); indoor air quality surveys; health and safety written program development, safety risk assessments; safety training, and other similar services
    • Analyze data, prepare data tables, reporting, and figures
    • Contribute to written technical reports
    • Travel throughout the continental US may be required to perform project work, depending on client/project needs. Overnight travel is typically on weekdays only.
    • Other duties as assigned
    • Opportunities may be available for environmental work such as stormwater, groundwater, soil, waste, and other sampling and support services. Related experience is a plus

    Qualifications:

    • BA or BS Degree in Occupational Health or environmental engineering, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, or related scientific field is required
    • 3-5 years of experience working in the EHS field. EHS consulting experience is a plus
    • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations
    • Industrial Hygiene experience preferred
    • Ability to train in Lock out Tag out, confined space, job safety analysis, personal protective equipment is required
    • Construction safety experience is a preferred
    • Environmental compliance experience is a plus
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and a strong work ethic
    • Strong work ethic, responsible, and dependable
    • Ability to follow directions and communicate effectively
    • Commitment to quality, accuracy, and attention to detail
    • This position requires analytical thinking, initiative, and accountability
    • Professional certifications are encouraged to be pursued
