POSITION DESCRIPTION
A Waste Coordinator at West Central Environmental Consultants (WCEC) and SET Environmental is responsible for:
Preparing shipments to SET and other established waste vendors
Being the point of contact person if there are compliance related issues regarding wastes
Housekeeping in 90-day waste storage area, which includes required inspections and quality control of outgoing loads prior to leaving the site
Ensuring the load is acceptable per DOT regulations and requirements
Tracking the material once it leaves the site up until the return manifest copy is received
Performing weekly visual inspections of items such as satellite accumulation areas, perform sampling, and maintain waste management supplies
To be a subject matter expert in all areas in concerning waste management
Interacting with different multi-chem divisions daily via phone, email, and in meetings
Performing other miscellaneous duties as necessary
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Hold a current Class B or higher CDL with Hazmat endorsement
Must have 2 years of practical field experience including hazardous waste handling, lab packing, chemical consolidation, manifesting, and scheduling rental containers
Competent computer skills, including MS Office
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proven self-starter and highly motivated
Obtain and keep current all certifications/licenses required (i.e. 40-hour HAZWOPER training, forklift certification, medical certification including respirator use)
Must have knowledge of all RCRA and DOT regulations
Ability to lift 50 lbs. or more
