OPPORTUNITY
PURPOSE & NEED
This position is for the anticipated USAID Latin America and Caribbean Environmental Support Services Contract - II (LAC ESSC-II), which is expected to be released in February 2024 with an award date by July 2024. This will be a 5-year activity and expected to be managed out of the Environment and Energy (ENVE) team in the Bureau for Latin America and the Caribbean's (LAC) Office of Regional Sustainable Development. The activity will provide expert technical assistance, training and facilitation, adaptive management, and communication services necessary to strengthen regional and bilateral environment and energy programs, and the integration of environment and energy considerations into other USAID technical sectors.
This activity will provide mission support in the areas of 1) biodiversity conservation, 2) adaptation and climate resilience, 3) natural climate solutions, 4) clean and renewable energy, 5) mobilizing climate finance, 6) water resources management, and 7) ocean plastic pollution.
As the Project Director, you will manage a team of staff, consultants, and subcontractors to deliver high quality, technical assistance to USAID/LAC and other USAID Missions in the region. You will play a leading role in engaging USAID clients, developing a shared vision for success, and leading the implementation team in designing and delivering results that achieve that vision. You will ensure that LAC ESSC-II features outstanding client engagement, delivery of high-quality services, and efficient and effective contract management. You will oversee the start-up of the contract and project-wide products and initiatives, such as the annual work plan, required reports, subcontracting agreements, and financial and staff management. You will also lead and grow your team to support LAC ESSC-II's implementation of Environmental Incentives (EI) management processes around financial planning, forecasting, and reporting.

The position will be based in Washington, DC. Locations outside of Washington, DC will be considered on a case-by-case basis, with a strong preference for the candidate to be located in Washington, DC. Environmental Incentives is implementing a hybrid work model in which employees will be required to work in the office approximately two days per week.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
