Being an Estimator - Materials may need the ability to use CAD software and interpret technical documents such as blueprints or mechanical drawings. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. The Estimator and his/her team serves as the primary contact between the Company and the customer and will work with the customer and the insurance company to provide a thorough estimate of all structural and content-related costs associated with remediation, restoration, repair, and reconstruction of damaged properties and remodeling projects.
The Estimator is responsible for performing site inspections, documenting losses with accurate measurements, notes, and photographs with strong attention to detail; estimating the cost of emergency services, remediation, restoration, repairs, reconstruction, and remodeling of the entire project through the use of Xactimate; negotiating project costs with insurance company representatives and customers as assigned; communicating with the Project Manager and Production Coordinator issues that will affect the project schedule and/or budget.
The Estimator is responsible for a smooth hand-off of the project to the Project Manager and production team.
