Executive Chef directs and oversees kitchen operations, including menu development, purchasing, inventory, cost control and sanitation. Creates and updates menus that will appeal to customers, utilize seasonal ingredients, and maximize profits. Being an Executive Chef develops and tests new recipes. Solicits and studies customer feedback to maintain high standards of quality and satisfaction. Additionally, Executive Chef troubleshoots and resolves operational issues. Complies with all safety and food sanitation laws and regulations. Supervises, trains, and mentors staff. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in culinary arts or equivalent. Typically reports to top management. The Executive Chef typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be an Executive Chef typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.     Overview

    We are looking for an experienced Executive Chef that has a passion for executing elevated cuisine while leading dynamic multicultural teams in remote settings. The chef will be successful in this role through understanding and championing the storied history of Grand Hotel cuisine, ensuring consistency, profitability and menu development through guest and team member engagement. The chef must be committed to hands on partnerships with their culinary and service brigades while ensuring their success with executing seamless service standards, driving revenue and improving efficiency.

    Qualifications

    • 4 years kitchen management experience         
    • 5 years cooking experience  
    • College degree or certification in culinary field/hospitality field preferred
    • Good working knowledge of sanitation standards and proper preparation and presentation of F&B   
    • Ability to understand financial goals and accomplish them
    • Ability to communicate effectively with the public and other Team Members
    • Proven ability to effectively lead and train a diverse workforce
    • Willingness to set a high standard in the kitchen through leading by example
    • Ability to stand for extended periods of time and lift up to 100 pounds  
    • Ability to work extended hours when business necessitates in humid and/or extreme temperatures
