JOB DESCRIPTION
Title: Executive Director
Hours: Full Time
Reports to: Good Samaritan Health Services Board of Directors
Position Summary: Within the policies established by the Board of Directors, the Executive Director is responsible for direct management of the organization. The Executive Director ensures that the agency operates within the context of the stated mission and is responsible for providing information essential to the decision-making process to the Board of Directors. Additionally, this position is responsible for leadership in all phases of organizational management of the operation. Working in collaboration with all employees and volunteers, the Executive Director assures the delivery of high-quality health care.
Responsibilities
Administrative
- Oversee all operational and administrative functions of the organization.
- Management of human resources including recruitment, hiring, orientation, scheduling, and evaluation of all staff and volunteers.
- Maintain administrative reports and statistical information on all aspects of the organization.
- In conjunction with staff, ensure delivery of quality services and programs.
- Function under policies adopted by the Board of Directors, including quality assurance and infection control, in accordance with accepted medical standards of care.
- Responsible for compliance with all legal requirements of organization’s functions.
- Purchase equipment and supplies needed for operations.
- Respect full confidentiality of patient records, treat patients with respect and care, and lead staff in that regard.
- Maintain the property’s physical site and make adjustments in layout as appropriate for staff and patient growth.
Financial
- In conjunction with the Board Treasurer, prepare and maintain budgets, necessary financial reporting, and assure the organization utilizes general acceptable accounting practices.
- Assist in planning and hosting an annual fundraising event to support the operational budget.
- Write grants and secure funds to assure that the organization has a sound financial base.
- Establish, cultivate, and maintain relationships with donors, foundations, and other resources to support organizational programs and activities.
Liaison to the Board of Directors
- Serve as President of the organization, attend all meetings, and provide input into decisions affecting the organization and its staff including: Addressing issues around clarity of role, governance, bylaws/policies and structure
- Assisting with the cultivation and recruitment of new Board members
- Preparing executive reports to the Board of Directors
- Work collaboratively with the Board Chairman and members of the board in overseeing and ensuring the fulfillment of the organization’s mission, keeping them appraised of critical issues at all times.
- Implement board policies and directive, including annual and long-range plans.
Community and Public Relations
- Serve as the organization’s principal leader, representative, and spokesperson to the community with the intent to promote public understanding and heighten awareness of the organization’s mission and services.
- Establish and maintain positive relations with civic and service organizations, and other community groups.
Related, similar or other logical duties as may be assigned by the board.
Qualifications
- Minimum Bachelor's Degree in administration, management, or health-related field. Master’s Degree preferred.
- Experience as a director or manager of a health care center or similar setting preferred.
- Ability to implement board directives.
- Ability to work independently and to delegate responsibilities.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
- Personal vigor and enthusiasm for the mission of the organization.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
