Exercise Physiologist develops, implements, and evaluates exercise programs for patients. Conducts testing that assesses cardiovascular and metabolic effects of exercise for cardiac and musculoskeletal rehabilitation. Being an Exercise Physiologist follows testing protocols and selects appropriate testing protocol for the patient. Monitors patient during testing. Additionally, Exercise Physiologist calculates and records testing results. Coordinates with cross-functional patient care teams. May design exercise prescriptions, instructional materials, home exercise guidelines, and discharge instructions. Conducts exercise training sessions for patients. Requires a bachelor's degree in exercise physiology. Typically reports to a manager. The Exercise Physiologist work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Complete ECG’s, pulmonary function tests, and other metabolic analyses on patients while following protocols in the Standard Operating Procedures manual.
o Upload exams by midnight and no late cases.
o Complete and maintain required certifications and continuing education, including CPR, BLS & ACLS.
o Follow HIPAA standards and Roller Weight Loss policy when handling & transferring confidential patient data.
o Clean and maintain all clinical equipment in compliance with Roller Weight Loss standards.
o Complete Biologicals and report results to the Chief Operating Officer on a quarterly basis.
o Maintain 85% of completed Field Overreads with a correction factor of <10%.

Qualifications
● Education: Degree in Exercise Physiology or related field from an accredited university or college (master’s preferred).
● Experience: Two plus years, current ACLS Certification preferred.
● 80% passing with internal ECG test. Ability to read and interpret 12-lead ECGs and knowledge of appropriate indications for exercise testing.
● Demonstration of past clinical stress testing and pulmonary function testing within a healthcare provider or university setting under physician supervision.
● Knowledge of oxygen consumption (VO2) as a cardiac/circulatory measure is a plus.
● Knowledge of the benefits of gas exchange and Anaerobic Threshold (AT).
● Ability to define challenges, analyzes problems, and develops and implements solutions in a proactive and positive manner. Ability to work independently and follow company protocols.
Working Environment
● Position requires the ability to constantly communicate verbally and electronically. Position also requires frequent walking, standing, reaching, bending, kneeling, and crouching. Pushing, pulling, lifting, and moving equipment are a daily part of the essential job requirements necessary to perform diagnostic testing on patients. Pushing, pulling, lifting, and moving up to 45 pounds of exertion and force is required. Daily duties also require the use of a computer and other equipment that must use the fingers and hands to feel and grasp.
