Exercise Physiologist develops, implements, and evaluates exercise programs for patients. Conducts testing that assesses cardiovascular and metabolic effects of exercise for cardiac and musculoskeletal rehabilitation. Being an Exercise Physiologist follows testing protocols and selects appropriate testing protocol for the patient. Monitors patient during testing. Additionally, Exercise Physiologist calculates and records testing results. Coordinates with cross-functional patient care teams. May design exercise prescriptions, instructional materials, home exercise guidelines, and discharge instructions. Conducts exercise training sessions for patients. Requires a bachelor's degree in exercise physiology. Typically reports to a manager. The Exercise Physiologist work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. We are currently seeking a part time Exercise Physiologist for our Stratford Office to assist with our Work Conditioning Program. The hours are Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
This position would involve working alongside a Physical Therapist to develop personalized exercise programs tailored to the individual work demands of each client with the goal for them to safely return to full duty work tasks. The position involves implementing treatment plans, progressing clients through the entirety of their program, and providing education regarding proper body mechanics as well as injury prevention.
The ideal candidate for this position demonstrates exceptional patient care knowledge, is a self-starter with great interpersonal skills, and is a team worker and able to collaborate with others.
Requirements:
4 year degree in Exercise Physiology, Exercise Science, or Kinesiology
Experience working in healthcare is preferred.
