Exercise Physiologist jobs in Virginia
Exercise Physiologist develops, implements, and evaluates exercise programs for patients. Conducts testing that assesses cardiovascular and metabolic effects of exercise for cardiac and musculoskeletal rehabilitation. Being an Exercise Physiologist follows testing protocols and selects appropriate testing protocol for the patient. Monitors patient during testing. Additionally, Exercise Physiologist calculates and records testing results. Coordinates with cross-functional patient care teams. May design exercise prescriptions, instructional materials, home exercise guidelines, and discharge instructions. Conducts exercise training sessions for patients. Requires a bachelor's degree in exercise physiology. Typically reports to a manager. The Exercise Physiologist work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. To be an Exercise Physiologist typically requires 4 -7 years of related experience. (Copyright 2024 Salary.com)

Hours/Shift: Flexi, Day Shift 7AM-7PM: (Flexi status is typically 1 shift a week, with the option to pick up additional shifts.)
The Exercise Physiologist assists in coordinating and implementing all phases of education and exercise therapy programs for the rehabilitation of persons with cardiovascular and pulmonary disease. Assists in collection of data to complete the initial patient assessment, the development of an exercise plan and a plan for education about life-style modification for Phase I and II cardiac/pulmonary rehab patients. Monitors and treats patients during exercise, assisting with modification of the exercise plan and conducts patient education.Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science or Kinesiology
- Previous EKG monitoring/telemetry work experience
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification (Must obtain within one year of employment)
