Extrusion Operator, Sr. sets up and operates an extrusion machine in accordance with established procedures, guidelines, and customer requirements. Reads and interprets blueprints and diagrams to select, position, and secure machinery. Being an Extrusion Operator, Sr. adjusts and cleans machines. Documents work performed as required. Additionally, Extrusion Operator, Sr. may have to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Extrusion Operator, Sr. works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. We specialize in programs that demand both custom and Mil-spec wire, catering to aerospace, ground vehicle, soldier-worn, space, and shipboard applications. Extrusion Operator Responsibilities Set up machines (calibration, cleaning, compound selection etc.) to start a production cycle Control and adjust machine settings (e.g. speed, temperature) Feed raw material or parts to semi-automated machines Inspect parts with precision and measuring tools Test operation of machines periodically Troubleshoot issues that might occur during the shift Check output to spot any machine-related mistakes or flaws Keep records of approved and defective units or final products Maintain activity logs Skills & Requirements At least 2 years experience in a manufacturing environment Ability to calculate basic math and take measurements Working knowledge of diverse high-speed machinery and measurement tools (caliper, micrometer etc.) Understanding of production procedures Adherence to health and safety regulations (e.g. constant use of protective gear) Analytical skills Attention to detail Teamwork and communication skills Following receipt of a conditional offer of employment, candidates will be required to complete additional job-related screening processes as permitted or required by applicable law.
