Facilities Manager jobs in Utica, NY

Overview:
As an experienced Facilities Manager you will oversee all building-related activities. You will be responsible for preserving the good condition of infrastructure and ensuring facilities are safe and well-functioning. The ideal candidate will be well-organized and able to optimize the use of space and equipment while reducing operating costs. This is a seasonal position beginning in April 2024 and ending in September 2024.

Responsibilities:

• Plan and coordinate all installations (telecommunications, heat, electricity etc.) and refurbishments.
• Manage the upkeep of equipment and supplies to meet health and safety standards.
• Inspect buildings’ structures to determine the need for repairs or renovations.
• Review utilities consumption and strive to minimize costs.
• Supervise all external contractors at the direction of the Facilities Director.
• Control activities including waste disposal, Health Department policies and procedures, and swimming pool maintenance.
• Understand third-party service contracts and manage the R&M Budget.
• Keep building inspection documents and end of life dates for equipment.

• Ensure our business accommodation is problem-free and safe so that employees can work under the best conditions.

Required Skills:

• 5 years of facilities management or related experience.
• Well-versed in technical/engineering operations and facilities management best practices.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
• Good analytical/critical thinking.
• Phenomenal efficiency skills.

Preferred:

• Proven experience as Facilities Manager or relevant position.
• Relevant professional qualification (e.g. CFM).
• Knowledge of basic accounting and finance principles.
