• 
  Individual and Group Therapy: Conduct individual therapy sessions with elderly residents to address a variety of mental health concerns including depression, anxiety, grief, loss, and adjustment issues associated with aging.
• Family Counseling: Provide family counseling and support to residents' families and caregivers to facilitate understanding, communication, and coping strategies related to the aging process and associated challenges.
• Crisis Intervention: Respond promptly and effectively to crisis situations, including assessing for suicide risk, managing behavioral disturbances, and coordinating appropriate interventions with interdisciplinary team members.
• Collaboration and Referral: Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, social workers, and rehabilitation therapists, to coordinate care, share information, and make appropriate referrals for additional services as needed.
• Documentation and Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and confidential documentation of therapy sessions, assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes in compliance with organizational policies and legal regulations.
• Continuing Education and Training: Stay informed about current research, best practices, and trends in geriatric mental health through ongoing professional development activities, workshops, and seminars.

• Master's degree or higher in Counseling, Clinical Psychology, Social Work, or related field.
• Current licensure as a therapist or counselor in the state of practice. (LCSW, MFT, CMHC, etc)
• Knowledge of geriatric psychology, cognitive decline, dementia, and other age-related mental health issues.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to establish rapport and trust with elderly clients and their families.
• Empathy, patience, and sensitivity to the unique needs and challenges of the geriatric population.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Ability to adapt therapeutic approaches to accommodate the cognitive and physical limitations of elderly clients.
