Job Summary: We are seeking a friendly and energetic Soda Fountain Team Lead to join our team! As a Team Lead, you will be the face of Dow's Soda Fountain. Our team members pride themselves on providing exceptional customer service while preparing and serving delicious foods and beverages. Key Responsibilities:

• Provide leadership and oversight for our team members working at Dow's soda fountain as well as our cafe, Coffee and Cotton, as needed.
• Greet and welcome customers with a friendly and positive attitude.
• Take customer orders accurately and provide recommendations on menu items.
• Prepare and serve a variety of classic sodas, milkshakes, ice cream sundaes, floats, malts, and other fountain treats.
• Operate soda fountain equipment, including blenders, freezers, our vintage soda fountain, and hot food warmers, safely and efficiently.
• Safely serve hot and cold food items with special attention to allergen safety and customer dietary requirements.
• Prepare custom syrups, sauces, and other food items in accordance with our provided recipes.
• Maintain a clean and organized workstation, including counters, equipment, and customer seating areas.
• Handle cash and operate the point of sale system, including processing payments and making change.

• Suggest monthly specials and help create innovative and engaging customer experiences.
• Ensure proper food handling and sanitation procedures are followed at all times.
• Restock supplies, such as ice cream, syrups, toppings, and soda, as needed.
• Communicate inventory and equipment needs to upper management.
• Instruct and assist team members in providing excellent customer service, addressing customer needs and resolving any issues or complaints promptly.
• Assist in opening and closing duties, such as cleaning, restocking, and preparing for the next shift.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a customer service or food service leadership role is preferred but not required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Willingness to teach team members techniques for making a variety of foods and beverages.
• Passion for good fun and great food.
• Positive attitude and ability to work independently as well as provide leadership and direction to our team.
• Ability to direct and assist team members in the proper completion of assigned duties.
• Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
• Certifications Required:
• ServSafe Certification: Must possess or be willing to obtain ServSafe Food Handler Certification to ensure proper food safety and sanitation practices.
• Allergen Safety Certification: Must complete an approved Allergen Awareness Training program to ensure the safety of customers with food allergies.
• ChokeSafe Certification: Must have ChokeSafe Certification or complete training in first aid and choking rescue procedures to handle emergencies effectively.
