Job Summary
The Service Department of an "Accredited" Adaptive Wheelchair Company has a challenging and rewarding position open for a field service technician primarily in Pasco County, Florida.
Position requires working in private homes, nursing homes, hospitals, schools or clinic settings to perform wheelchair repair functions.
Responsibilities and Duties
This position requires an established work history of performing general mechanical and basic electronics functions, with transferable skills to the servicing of wheelchairs. Experience in servicing complex rehab equipment is beneficial. Applicant must also have established customer service skills, phone and computer experience and an excellent driving record. In addition, applicant must be extremely detail oriented, organized and people oriented.
A drug test, TB test and Level II background check with fingerprinting is mandatory. Position requires ability to bend, stoop, kneel, use hand tools for various periods of time during the performance of the service function. Some lifting is required.
The company does not provide "emergency" service but the position does require the ability to work overtime when necessary. Applicant must be able to interact with many healthcare professionals and clients in a business like, professional manner and through performance establish a rapport of trust and confidence with our clients and referral sources.
Applicant will be expected to learn the various wheelchair frames, components and replacements parts and how they are to be safely serviced. Certain aspects of required documentation and reimbursement details, industry terminology must also be learned. Company offers additional industry training opportunities via on-line computer courses and manufacturers training sessions.
