The University of Southern Maine invites applications for a Financial Manager. The Financial Manager is responsible for the financial management of the Division of Student Affairs; Enrollment Management, Marketing and Student Retention; Office of Equity, Inclusion and Community Impact; and Public Safety. The Financial Manager advises the Vice Presidents and senior leadership on financial strategy, budget development, and policy. This oversees all unrestricted and restricted funds and is responsible for understanding, implementing, and overseeing System and University financial policies, practices, and procedures. Under the direction of the Vice Presidents for the respective areas, the Financial Manager authorizes expenditures within the overall division budgets and is authorized to negotiate financial matters with University staff and external contacts. The Financial Manager is also responsible for oversight management and collaboration with soft-money funded centers as assigned.

This is a full-time position with a starting annual in the mid-$50,000 range commensurate with experience. This position will be based primarily on the Portland Campus.

• A Bachelor’s degree and four years of relevant experience, or Masters degree and two years of relevant experience, OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to communicate effectively, including presentation skills.
• Experience working both independently and collaboratively with various levels.
