Builder/Log Crafter

Primary function of this position is to craft log structures and assemble log structures both in-house and on-site. Some building experience required – we will train qualified candidate on how we do our log work.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Be timely
• Attention to detail and fit
• Ability to inspect raw log materials for quality and suitability
• Use a tape measure, levels and specialized scribing tools
• Use Electric powered chipping tool to chip cups
• Must learn and prove capability of using chainsaw safely
• Operate log tractor or similar to move logs into place
• Ability to work at heights of more than 4 feet while using scribing and power tools as needed.

Hours: Monday through Friday, overtime as necessary. Some travel required for on-site reassembly - premium pay for travel. Good communication and organizational skills a plus.

Valid Driver’s License required.

Pay: $20 - $22/hour, depending on experience. Vacation, sick pay and additional benefits offered.

Job Description:

Carpenters/Log Crafters needed to craft log structures. Will train but Experience preferred for fast paced, busy log home company. Qualifications: self-starter, punctual, reliable, detail oriented. May need to travel to job site, out-of-state for several days to several weeks to re-stack log homes/projects. Must work as a team player with a positive attitude. Ideal candidates must have attention to detail to quality craftsmanship and ability to produce a quality product in a timely manner. Must be able to lift 75lbs, able to stand and walk for long periods of time, handle heights and scaffolding work. Be able to use a chainsaw, chipping hammer and various hand/power tools or have the ability to learn and become proficient. Valid Driver’s License.
