Being a FRONT DESK CLERK makes advance reservations and handles special requests. Issues invoices and collects room fees. Additionally, FRONT DESK CLERK handles or appropriately escalates customer service issues. Performs administrative duties such as answering phones, cleaning work space, and assisting managers and supervisors as needed. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The FRONT DESK CLERK works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. Concord's Colonial Inn is a year round, full service, historic inn located in downtown Concord, Massachusetts. We're seeking an Experienced Guest Services Agent/Front Desk Clerk.
The ideal candidate has prior hotel or inn experience, is self-motivated, and the flexibility to work various shifts-- including nights, weekends, and holidays--this is essential for scheduling. Both Part-Time and Full-Time positions are potentially available.
The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Welcoming and directing guests
* Managing phones (including taking reservations, transferring calls, answering questions)
* Checking guests in and out of the Inn
* Assistance with bell duties
* Basic credit card, cash handling, and drawer management skills (including gift shop transactions)
* Using our property management system (Opera) to book, change, and update reservations/transactions (knowledge of computers, email, and Office software is very helpful).
* Any other reasonable requests by management.
