Being a Geologist studies variations in rock formations and densities to identify new mineral deposits. Estimates depth, quality and vastness of deposits. Additionally, Geologist tests mineral quality and purity to determine feasibility of mining. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager.     JOB DESCRIPTION:

    Desired Qualifications:

    • 4-Year degree in related field or 3 - 10 years of related experience
    • Experience in the install groundwater and surface water instrumentation systems in and around dams, levees and CCR sites for the collection of real time data collection/performance monitoring
    • Instrumentation and maintenance will include
    • inclinometers, water quality equipment (pH,ORP, DO, turbidity, conductivity), portable solar battery charging stations and cellular and satellite communication systems
    • Experience in executing field investigations utilizing various drilling methods and resources
    • Experience with soil and rock logging, monitoring well construction, groundwater monitoring, and field data reporting
    • Knowledge of environmental sampling and testing methods

    Additional Notes:

    • Typical Worker, Geologist work week is 4, 10 hour days (Monday - Thursday) with some 10 day shifts.
    • Extensive travel throughout the southeastern United States.
    • The Worker will be reimbursed for lodging and meals associated with work related travel and overnight stays.

    Job Types: Full-time, Contract

    Pay: $30.00 - $42.50 per hour

    Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
