  • Duties

    • Use a computer-based inventory management system to estimate quantities of raw materials and schedule their deliveries.
    • Assist in the development, evaluation and implementation of strategies for execution of logistics mission and functions to support production mission and strategic goals.
    • Review and analyze existing processes to eliminate inefficiencies and to identify opportunities for increased effectiveness and efficiency.
    • Reviews Bill of Materials (BOM) - an extensive list of raw materials, components, and assemblies required to construct, manufacture or repair a product or service - to ensure that the records are built correctly, and have the latest revisions.

    • This position has a Compiler Certification requirement. The incumbent must meet all requirements for D and A Compiler level 2 certification within 24 months of being placed on the position.

    In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.     Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: (1) Utilizing an enterprise system, such as Logistics Modernization Program (LMP) or the Complex Assembly and Manufacturing Solution (CAMS) or or SAP or Oracle or GCSS Army or GFEBS to update/track information; (2) Providing opinions and/or guidance regarding logistics management policies and procedures; and (3) Conducting analysis and/or review of existing processes to eliminate inefficiencies and/or increase effectiveness and efficiency.
    This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).

    Education

    Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone-no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
