Position Description
The Logistics Specialist provides support to the Tool Room Coordinator and Equipment Coordinator to ensure job sites receive superior support in the areas of tooling and small equipment. This position also works closely with select vendors to stay aware of current tooling and equipment trends and opportunities.
Job Responsibilities
- Works closely with Tool Room Coordinator to prioritize daily duties
- Directs Tool Room Attendant to achieve these priorities
- Communicates with Project Managers and Superintendents on job site tool needs
- Works with tool vendors to ensure inventory levels are sufficient
- Works with tool vendors to learn about new product offerings and benefits
- Maintains tool calibration and certification paperwork
- Schedules all shipping and receiving – SE Freight, UPS, TQL, FedEx, etc.
- Helps Equipment Division Coordinator maintain small equipment service & repairs
- Provides support for vehicle fleet logistics
- Helps Tool Room Coordinator maintain Dead Storage organization
- Helps Equipment Manager maintain facilities and yard
Job Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Experience working in the construction industry is preferred
- Must be able to read, write and communicate clearly with supervisor/co-workers and understand direction from foreman/lead-person
- Must be able to utilize basic math and read a tape measure
- Must be able to obtain a DOT medical card and have a clean MVR
- Must be able to obtain forklift certification
- Must be able to use basic computer skills and Windows based programs
- Must be able to obtain a proficient use of ToolWatch Asset Management Program
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, climb, bend, twist, stand and reach repetitively, operate moving equipment and work in hot/cold/damp/cramped environments
- May be required to pass a drug test and criminal background check based on job location/requirements
