Our opportunity is for an experienced construction quality assurance technician to primarily work on large heavy civil construction projects - liner and earthworks- Projects include per-diem and expenses for travel.  Opportunities require extended travel during construction season in the specific project geography, typically April-November as weather permits. 

Your Impact

• Perform soil density testing, geosynthetic liner observations, collect samples and perform lab analyticals at the on-site lab
• Conducting field investigations and environmental sampling programs
• Provide daily reports of observation and test results
• Monitor work procedures for compliance with project specifications
• Perform analysis or calculations to check accuracy, applicability and reasonableness of testing data
• Geosynthetics monitoring and testing
• Review and comprehension of construction specifications
• Document interpretation to ensure projects are completed in accordance with project design drawings and technical specifications
• Interact with contractors and client representatives (supervisors, foremen, project managers, engineers, etc.) at project sites in a positive and constructive manner to solve issues that arise during construction
• Legal and safe operation of vehicle on behalf of the company
• Work collaboratively with other professionals, scientists, engineers, inspectors, project control, and technicians on assigned inspection phases, checks, and tasks.
• Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
• Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
• Will travel to project sites in the West US. Approximately 50% to 75% overnight travel.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required 7 years of construction quality assurance experience
• Must successfully complete and pass WSP’s Motor Vehicle screening. 
• Reliability – must be able to arrive at designated project sites prior to scheduled times
• Ability to prepare reports and documentation
• Ability and willingness to travel within Western States to support projects.  Approximately 50% to 75% overnight travel.
• Ability to work in variable outside conditions
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Must pass drug test, physical, background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policy 
• Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
• Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek.

Preferred Qualifications

• Good understanding of construction drawings and specifications
• MHSA certification
