Grader, Bulldozer, and Scraper Operator jobs in Washington
Grader, Bulldozer, and Scraper Operator operates a specially equipped tractor to gouge out, level, and distribute earth. Prepares land for constructing roads and buildings. Being a Grader, Bulldozer, and Scraper Operator may require a high school diploma or its equivalent. May have to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty with 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Additionally, Grader, Bulldozer, and Scraper Operator is familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Your Responsibilities
- Understand grades and elevations (finish-grade, sub-grade, etc.)
- Understand GPS and equipment.
- Perform maintenance on equipment at the beginning and end of each day (fuel, grease, inspection, minor field repairs).
- Must have a hands-on attitude and be able to adjust/respond to situations in the field as they arise.
- Must be able to communicate well with other contractors.
Your Experience & Qualifications
- 5 years of experience running similar equipment
- Preference will be given to candidates with a TWIC card and current CDL.
