Assistant Group Director of ABA

  • Job Summary:

     

    The assistant director of group ABA, is a clinical supervisor intern who plans, coordinates, and oversees social skills programming, across groups with direct support from the group ABA director. 

     

    Essential Job Functions:

    • Trains social group teaching staff.  
    • Prepares curriculum to be taught each week based on clients’ goals & areas of need.
    • Models curriculum and teaching skills for social group teachers. 
    • Observes each social group and reviews client SOAP note documentation and data once per month.
    • Monitors implementation of curriculum and programming via IOA.
    • Ensures social skills group data is taken weekly and goals are being addressed by reviewing each client’s Catalyst a minimum of once per month.
    • Reviews social skills group goals in client’s progress reports and gives feedback to clinical supervisors. 
    • Monitors client attendance by logging into NPA monthly and reviewing fulfillment
    • Audits NPA monthly to ensure the correct billing code is being used for each social group client.
    • Plans for new groups with the social group director as needed.
    • Subs as group teacher as needed.
    • Responds to emails and phone calls by parents or clinical staff within a timely manner (within 48 business hours).
     

    Positions Supervised (Direct Reports):

    • Registered Behavior Technicians 
     

    Minimum Required Education or Training Equivalent to:

    • Currently enrolled in a Master’s degree program from an accredited college or university in applied behavior analysis
     

    Minimum Years of Additional Related Experience:

    Two years of related professional experience applying ABA methodologies, working with children with autism spectrum disorders (“ASD”) and/or other related developmental disabilities in a multi-disciplinary team setting.

     

    Special Qualifications (Skills, Abilities, Licenses):

    • Knowledgeable of methodologies found to benefit children with ASD, including Applied Behavioral Analysis (“ABA”), Early Start Denver Model (“ESDM”), Treatment and Education of Autistic and related Communication-Handicapped Children (“TEACCH”), Picture Exchange Communication System (“PECS”), and Pivotal Response Training (“PRT”). 
    • Familiar with the field of early intervention, and knowledgeable of other community resources and agencies that serve children.
    • Implements all HIPAA laws
    • Able to exercise confidentiality and discretion pertaining to the work environment
    • Able to appropriately interpret and implement policies, procedures, and regulations
    • Sensitive to working with an ethnically, linguistically, culturally, and economically diverse population.
    • Able to work in multiple program service areas.
    • Able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing; American Sign Language or bilingual ability preferred.
    • Able to consistently demonstrate good judgment and decision-making skills.
    • Able to exercise confidentiality and discretion pertaining to the work environment.
    • Able to appropriately interpret and implement policies, procedures, and regulations.
    • Knowledgeable and skilled in computer/word processing software.
    • Able to obtain criminal record clearance through the Department of Justice.
    • Able to obtain CPR certificate.
    • Able to travel to multiple work sites; reliable transportation needed (proof of valid driver's license, current auto insurance identification card, and acceptable driving record per NIAC standards is required).
    Compensation will be an additional $2 to $4 per hour on top of established hourly rate
