    POSITION SUMMARY

    The Group Sales Manager is responsible for soliciting, negotiating and selling year-round group social, recreation, leisure, corporate, association, and other direct business within assigned market segments.

    The position focus is responsible for revenue targets and meeting or exceeding established ADR and RPV for their assigned market segment and contributing to the overall growth of the sales organization.

    This is a full-time year round benefit eligible position with possibility to be on a hybrid schedule. The compensation for this role is $50,000/year plus commissions.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES
    • Proactively sell all Stratton Mountain products including by not limited to lodging, F&B, activities, lift tickets, rentals, ski school.
    • Own market segments and track and report regional competitive trends
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with group partners
    • Conduct professional property and on mountain site inspections for prospective and contracted group business
    • Log all sales activity in Amadeus Delphi Event Management Systems
    • Work well with all internal departments in a team environment to consistently deliver results to clients to include but not limited to, F&B, Events, Ski School, Front Desk, Vacation Sales, Revenue Management Team, Marketing and Sales.
    • Conduct regular outbound sales efforts to develop new group business.
    • Network and attend meeting with other Alterra resorts
    • Attend trade shows and sales calls
    • Execute annual Stratton Sales Strategic Plan action items developed by DOS.
    • Respond to all incoming leads within 48 hours
    • Contract writing and negotiations.
    • Support Stratton Senior Sales Manager to attract, contract and execute large events.
    • Collaborate with marketing on opportunities to actively promote market segments
    • Manage time accordingly between outbound calls, sales trips, site tours, proposal and contract writing and networking with clients.
    • Support other Sales Managers and cover for them when necessary (team environment).
    • Meet or exceed sales goals as determined by the DOS.
    • Be willing and able to work weekends and/or nights when necessary for site inspections or if needed to make sales goals.
    • Attend and actively participate in department and cross department meetings.
    • Deliver a high level of guest service to each and every client and internal customer.

    EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

    Education:
    • Bachelor's Degree preferred

    Experience:
    • 3 years related sales experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
    • Previous experience in Amadeus and SMS systems preferred.

    • Must possess an ability to quickly adapt to changing sales conditions or requirements.
    • Highly driven and persistent.

    • Capable of working productively and remotely with minimal direct supervision
    • Ability to accommodate moderate travel schedule
    • Strong computer skills/Microsoft Word, Power Point, Delphi
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings/weekends
    • Superior organizational and follow-up skills
    • Team player
    • Strong attention to detail

    TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
    • Some travel required
    • must be able to lift 20 lbs.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

    This position may be required to work evenings, weekends and holidays.

    Office Environment:
    • Able to lift, carry, or otherwise move and position a minimum of 20 pounds on an occasional basis.
    • Manual dexterity to operate a computer and other common office equipment on a constant basis.
    • Auditory and visual acuity to operate computers, phones, mobile devices and basic office equipment on a constant basis.
    • Ability to work for extended periods of time sitting, bending, reaching, and speaking on a constant basis.
    • Ability to work for extended periods of time standing, walking, kneeling, pushing and pulling on an occasional basis.
    • Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and other employees.
