Head of Anesthesiology jobs in Akron, NY

Great Lakes Anesthesiology PC is seeking an experienced Medical Biller to join our team. This position will be based at our Corporate Office located in Buffalo, NY.

Job Summary

The ideal candidate is extremely motivated and has the ability to self manage and organize their work day in order to complete daily tasks. Daily responsibilities include entering a large volume of charges for multiple facilities, claim follow up(MUST have extensive knowledge of insurance and be familiar with our local insurance provider portals, including workers compensation and no-fault. Experience with Pennsylvania payers is a plus), answering phone calls, organizing and verifying billing cards for multiple hospital systems. Familiarity with some of our local EMR systems would be great!

Job Responsibilities and Qualifications

• Enter a large amount of anesthesia charges daily.
• Assess a denial and be able to determine proper resolution of claim to be paid.
• Have a high level of understanding of CPT Codes, ICD 10 Codes, edits and modifiers.
• Ability to appeal and correct claims electronically or via payers' web portal. Knowledge and ability to navigate these portals is a requirement.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant State and Federal laws.
• Ability to effectively and professionally communicate with insurance companies and patients.
• Process patient payments over the phone and answer patient phone calls.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education Requirements

• High school graduation or an equivalent combination of training and experience is necessary
• Some college preferred

Experience Requirements

• Minimum of 1 to 3 years of Billing and Accounts Receivable experience REQUIRED

Skills and Competencies Requirements

• Excellent communication and customer service skills required. Must be able to multi-task and desire to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Expertise in entire revenue cycle of medical billing
