Privately owned small animal emergency practice seeks a dynamic, experienced veterinary technician with strong training and people development skill as our ICU supervisor. Must enjoy working with people as well as pets, and value an engaged work environment where we help all our technical staff succeed. Accuracy, attention to detail, and a strong work ethic are critical. RVT/ LVT/ CVT, at least 2 years’ experience in ICU patient care, and excellent emergency technical skills are required. Supervisory experience preferred but willing to help the right person with a passion for hospitalized patient care develop into this role. Experience with EzyVet and/or SmartFlow is a plus.

Requirements

• · Work with the Veterinary Emergency Manager to optimize patient care and ICU SOPs
• · Oversee the ICU team of RVTs and veterinary assistants including training
• · Subject-matter expert on technical nursing skills & patient care
• · Training and reviews of technical staff for continuous skill development
• · Communication with other supervisory staff of updates to procedure development
• · Assist in development and publishing of technical staff schedules
• · Assist in interviewing and hiring new technical staff
